Kauai is known as the island of discovery, and this tour is ideal for the active guest to experience all the island has to offer. Kayakers will have the opportunity to enjoy Kauai’s natural beauty on the easy paddle down the Hanalei River. The summit of Makana, better known as Bali Hai in the musical South Pacific, soars high above the lush landscape to the west, while the south boasts a panorama of verdant peaks and waterfalls.

Guides will lead kayakers through the mouth of the river and west through the cerulean waters of Hanalei Bay to explore Kauai’s famed beaches. After a paddle across the bay, kayakers can explore the sea stacks and secluded caves between Wai’Koko and Lumahai Cove. Sea conditions permitting, the group will then paddle to the beach at Lumahai Cove, also featured in the movie South Pacific.

The adventure continues as kayakers then head east toward Ani’ni to land at the pristine beach dubbed Hideaways. Once there, paddlers may snorkel for a better view of the teaming marine life that feed around the reefs. Spinner dolphins and the Hawaiian green sea turtle are often spotted cavorting in these waters while native birds like the Boobie and Black Caped Night Heron fly overhead. Those kayakers who feel up for a challenge may also try their skills in the surf offshore.

By paddling, snorkeling, swimming, and beach combing, this five hour tour is the perfect way to explore all the coastal and inland waterways of the Hanalei area while taking in the pastoral beauty of Kauai.
