Cowboys Of Hawaii Atv Tour
Our new tours let you ride sporty All Terrain Vehicles (ATVS) around the historically important Parker Ranch on Hawaii’s Big Island, located near volcanic Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. The tour presents you with the choice of two different paths to take, both of them highly picturesque. You may choose to ride up Holoholo Hill, where you can take in breathtaking vistas of the entire ranch and its environs from up high. Your other choice is to take Mana Road, which features the beautiful and stately Mauna Kea Mountain in the background. Either way, you will be immersed in the fascinating world of the Parker Ranch.
The Parker Ranch is one of the biggest and the oldest ranches in the United States. It occupies around one hundred and fifty thousand acres of land and its origins date back to the beginning of the nineteenth century. Started by an Englishman named John Parker, who worked with King Kamehameha I, the Parker Ranch eventually turned the cattle trade into one of the primary Hawaiian businesses. The Parker family has grown over the years into one of the wealthiest and most important dynasties on the islands. The nearby regions of Waimea and Kamuela owe much of their success to these prominent people. The family itself has been marked by a turbulent past, however, full of financial ups and downs, gun fighting, tragic deaths and plenty of other sensational events. On our tour, you will learn all about this exciting Hawaiian epoch and you will also be able to buy books from our gift story to further explore this fascinating topic.
