Dolphin Kids Quest
This Big Island adventure will bring your kids up close to our bottlenose dolphins. They will spend thirty minutes in our shallow water lagoon and on our submersed platform interacting with the animals. Your kids will enjoy a kickboard swim around the dolphin lagoon. Their time with the dolphins will be captured in photographs and on DVD for purchase after their visit. While not in the water, your children will enjoy fun educational activities and games that teach them about dolphins and their world and how each one of us can be a good steward of the world. When they leave, your children will receive a Dolphin Quest souvenir and a Clicks and Whistles brochure. They will also be signed up for a lifetime subscription of the e-newsletter Splash Flash.
Dolphins are actually mammals and are related to the family of whales. They breathe through a single blowhole on the top of their heads. They form strong bonds with each other. When one dolphin is sick, another will help them to the surface to breathe. Dolphins are born with whiskers above their mouth, but the whiskers usually fall off shortly after birth. Dolphins have teeth that they use to catch fish and squid, the mainstay of their diet. When they finally have their lunch, however, they don’t chew it. Instead they swallow their meal whole.
Dolphin Quest Oahu is located at the Kahala Hotel and Resort, minutes away from Waikiki. Guests with special needs are encouraged to visit Dolphin Quest and partake in a dolphin adventure.
