E Noa Pearl Harbor Excursion
December 7, 1941 was the day the Japanese invaded. Flying in their fighter planes, Japanese soldiers launched a surprise attack over Oahu, dropping bombs and gunfire over the peaceful island and leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake. Thousands of brave American soldiers lost their lives as they scrambled to defend their nation against this formidable enemy. When the invaders were gone and the smoke had cleared, the island was left in chaos. Among the most heartbreaking of losses was the sinking of the U.S.S. Arizona Battleship, which went down when it was hit by enemy fire and trapped its crew members inside. All 1,177 men on board that ship died. Today, the wreckage of the ship remains untouched, and the spot where the Arizona went down marks the final resting place for these brave soldiers.
This is your opportunity to experience the tragedy of this infamous day. You’ll see actual clips of the attack and listen to an expert, who will walk you through the events of the attack. Next, you’ll visit the Arizona Memorial, which is situated directly above where the Arizona Battleship went down. You can still see the actual ship! This is your opportunity to pay homage to these brave men and see the black tears of the Arizona.
On this tour, you’ll also see the Pacific Fleet Headquarters and the Arizona Memorial WWII Museum, which contains countless relics from the war. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – one that will bring you a renewed interest in American history and a deeper appreciation for the men who have sacrificed so much.
