If you’ve ever longed to ride the waves, now’s your chance. Spend a day in Lahaina—royal surfing spot of King Kamehameha III—and learn the ways of the waves. Experienced instructors will teach you the lessons of a lifetime in the warm waters of the Lahaina Breakwall, where you’ll change your skill-set, and maybe change your life in the process.

Goofy Foot Surf Camp runs for either a half-day or a full day including lunch, your choice. Either option is appropriate for anyone who’s never surfed before, up to intermediate surfers looking to hone their skills. Both sessions are taught by seasoned instructors who’ll teach you all the basics, including how to wipe out. Your board is provided, as well as a protective shirt and booties. You’ll start out on the sand, learning stretches and the ways of the ocean. You’ll learn how to stand up on the board and stay standing. The Goofy Foot mantra of always being aware of everything around you will serve you well in the water and out of it.

Out in the water, your safety is always of primary importance, but so is fun. Buoys mark surfing (and resting/viewing) spots in the water, and everyone goes at their own pace. During lunch, you’ll get a chance to eat delicious local food, relax, and learn about the history of surfing, a sport that goes back a thousand years. Then it’s back out to the water to practice what you learned. Professional photo and video services can document your Hang Ten for all to see!
