If you’re a fan of surfing and skateboarding, you’ll go absolutely mad about kiteboarding, an exciting sport that combines the speed of wakeboarding with surfing and parasailing. We are the only kiteboarding school on Maui and we offer beginning, intermediate and advanced classes taught by fully certified professionals.

Kiteboarding uses wind power to pull you through the water on your board, and Maui’s trade winds are nonpareil. Once you etch those basic kiting skill notches on your belt, you’re ready for bodydragging and board grabbing. Bodydragging is practically self-explanatory, but in contrast to kiteboarding, a bigger kite drags your body through the water. Not to worry: bodydragging is just like bodysurfing, only with a lift. And board grabs allow you to do just that—grab the board with either hand in a variety of positions, front or back. You’ll also learn some cool kiteboard lingo. A melon or tailfish—it’s your choice! Because we know how addictive this sport is, we offer for purchase kiteboards, kitebows, surfboards, harnesses, and other gear to suit your particular needs.

As a beginning kiteboarder, you’ll start your first lesson with a four-line bow kite for launching and landing. You’ll do a body drag through the power zone while dragging in the water, execute a body drag upwind, launch your kite from the water, and practice self-rescue skills.
