Experience the latest craze in water sports — kiteboarding. In kiteboarding, the rider uses a board with or without footstraps and the power of a large kite to move across the water. Innovations in kite design, safety release systems, and instruction have made the sport safer in recent years. This program is designed for boarders with some experience who want to hone their skills. With each lesson, you’ll receive expert instruction.

In the first three-hour lesson, your instructor will teach you how to use the consistent wind blowing off the coast of Maui to your advantage. You will learn how to ride upwind and maximize your time on the water. Your instructor will continue to give you feedback as you try out new techniques.

In the second lesson, the instructor will be kiting by your side, coaching you on how to make directional changes on the water. This is a significant step from the beginning to the intermediate level.

In the third lesson, you will graduate from the kiteboard to a surfboard. You will learn bi-directional freestyle kiting and learn to ride the waves. Your instructor will kiteboard with you while you practice making transitions and small jumps on a surfboard. This skill will give you the opportunity to still enjoy kiteboarding in lighter winds.

Equipment is included in the cost of each lesson. Kiteboarding is a way to actively enjoy the water off of Maui while still taking in the beauty of the Pacific island. Let our expert instructors show you how to have the time of your life.
