The soaring cliffs and lush valleys of Kauai’s Na Pali Coast make the land virtually impossible to traverse. The steep cliffs meet the deep crystalline waters of the Pacific and create a picture perfect place for snorkeling and adventure. The waves have eroded sea caves and arches in the lava rock, and on this excursion, guides will take you by boat on into the heart of this rugged land. The boat will take you past fluted cliffsides and under gushing waterfall cascades on your way to the pristine reef at Nualolo Kai. Weather conditions permitting, you will also get a guided tour of the ruins of an ancient fishing village that survived on this harsh terrain. On this boating expedition, you will be able to personally see the natural wonders both above and below the sea of Kauai’s most famous shoreline.

While snorkeling around the protected reef area of Nualolo Kai off the Na Pali coast, you will get to swim with the diverse marine life endemic to Kauai. Spinner dolphins are frequent visitors and will perform aerial acrobatics and cavort in the surf while you enjoy the boat ride. Watch as Hawaii’s giant green sea turtles, which can live over a century and grow to weigh up to four hundred pounds, meander through the surf looking for their next meal. You will also see many of the six hundred species of multicolored tropical fish darting about the seaweed and sponges of this thriving ocean environment.

Our knowledgeable staff is well versed on the culture and mythology of the Hawaiian Islands, as well as the unique biology and topography of Kauai. As you snorkel, they will be able to describe the habits of the aquatic species you will encounter. The boat is an RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) which is capable of high speeds over the rough Hawaiian surf. This will not only get you to the Na Pali Coast faster, but will also provide a smoother ride than other types of vessels. The craft is small enough to maneuver into the sea caves for a better experience than larger boats can offer. The RIB also features a head as well as shady areas to escape the sun.
