WWII Beginning To End Oahu Historic Tour from Kahului, Maui

Spend the day learning about the dramatic history of World War II with its various sorrows and victories. From the Kahului Airport in Maui, you’ll embark on an exciting daylong journey to Honolulu, Oahu, known for its sandy beaches and magnificent vistas. It is also rich with history and important artifacts and is the site of one of the most profound events in American history.

The morning of December 7, 1941 brought with it terror and destruction to the quiet island of Oahu when Pearl Harbor was overcome with Japanese bombers. The American death toll quickly rose, including all 1,177 who were on the U.S.S. Arizona Battleship. The wrecked ship with all its men remains at the bottom of the ocean at the exact spot where it went down. The black tears of the Arizona can still be seen and is said to be a symbol of the ship’s grief.

The Pearl Harbor tour includes a recounting of that historic day with a knowledgeable guide and film clips from the actual attack. Visit the Arizona Memorial, directly above the fallen vessel, as you honor those who died. You’ll also see the U.S.S. Missouri Battleship (the Mighty Mo) where the war officially ended, the U.S.S. Bowfin submarine, the U.S. Pacific Fleet Headquarters, and the Arizona Memorial World War II museum.

Afterward, you’ll have time to visit the spectacular views of Oahu and visit Waikiki beach, where you can enjoy the water and watch surfers play in the waves. The tour ends with an airplane ride back to Maui.
